IPOB Replies Ebonyi Sate Governor on Alleged Kidnap and Death Threats
On Tuesday 8th January, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in a statement replied the South East Governors Forum (SEGF) and Ebonyi State Governor, Umahi, over an alleged kidnap and death threat passed by some of its members against five South- East governors who claimed would commit suicide following the implementation of the said threat. Responding however, the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary said the group isn’t one to shed blood or take barbaric actions, thereby describing a statement made by Umahi as “reckless, frivolous, unsubstantiated and a perverse statement from a clueless man.”
According to the group, it appeared that whenever a “quisling wants to renew his slave status with his Northern masters…”, they blamed the IPOB for verbal assault, further adding the IPOB claimed that the governors would suffer unsalvageable calamities, as they were the “worst” in Igbo history, noting their supposed “open- arms” welcoming of soldiers in the just concluded Operation Python Dance, while the same Army were been humiliated uncontrollably in the Northern part of the country. Conclusively, the group urged Nigerians to “checkmate” the “treachery” of Igbo governors, or run the risk of an endless suffering.
