At least 16 local miners have been kidnapped by gunmen in Bogoma village of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Yakubu Sabo, confirmed the abduction.

The miners were abducted on Tuesday night when the truck they were traveling with was intercepted by armed bandits shortly after they left their mining site.
